Margaret Jean Butler, 93, known to everyone as Jean, of Ramona passed away on October 26, 2017. She was born in Indiana to Charles and Margaret Bart. Margaret graduated from High School in 1942 in Raub, Indiana and went on to Methodist Hospital Nursing School in Indianapolis where she graduated as an RN in 1946. She worked as a nurse for all of her career.
She married Leo J. Butler on February 12th of 1947 and is survived by their three sons, Steve (Pamela) of Ramona, Bart (Sherry) of Whitmore, CA and Jim (Peggy) of Danville, KY. She also was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, brother Bill Bart of Ft. Myers, FL and her sister Edith Gordon of Earl Park, IN.
After retiring, Jean moved to Ramona in 1997 and was active with the Ramona Ramblers, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and volunteered at the Ramona Food & Clothes Closet where she served as President for three years.
Her family will remember her as a woman who love watching Padres baseball and that hated Mexican food.
A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 11th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Ramona. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30am followed by Mass at 10am.
