Frances Romig
September 22, 1920 – January 18, 2011
Frances M. Romig, 90, of Santa Ysabel passed away peacefully on January 18, 2011. Frances was surrounded by her loving family.
She was one of the eldest of the Santa Ysabel Tribe and spent all of her life living there in the mountains that she loved. She will be remembered by many as a social butterfly, often seen driving in her Chevy with her beloved nephew Harvey.
She is survived by three nieces, Louella Simpson of Santa Ysabel, Marion Long of Mesa, AZ and Ruth Revel of Chandler, AZ, along with countless great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held at Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary, in Ramona, on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm. The Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at the Santa Ysabel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 with burial immediately following at the San Felipe Indian Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the Santa Ysabel Head Start building.
