Michael John Murray
July 31, 1950
April 3, 2015

Michael Murray passed away peacefully at his home in Julian, CA on April 3, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his father, George Murray, mother Florence Titus and brother Dennis Murray.  He is survived by his three children: Michael Murray, Shawna Adams and Stephanie Giebelman; and eight grandchildren: Brenton Smith, Logan Murray, Austin Murray, Brady Adams, Emily Adams, Connor Giebelman, Grace Giebelman and Olivia Giebelman.  He is also survived by his two brothers Terry Murray of TN, Patrick Murray of OR, and sisters Mary Smith of OR and Kathy Hobbs.

Michael was born in San Francisco, CA and later moved to Torrance, CA where he graduated high school.  He enlisted in the Army at eighteen, served in South Korea and was stationed in Germany for a year.  His four years in the service was his absolute most proud accomplishment.  He married Karen Kaye in 1971 and had three children.  He worked as a forklift operator for a delivery dock company for over 30 years and retired early at 57.  He then bought a home in Julian to be closer to his children and grandchildren.  During his retirement he volunteered for the Wounded Warriors, visited amputees at the VA hospital in San Diego and traveled to different cities to listen to his best friend and Medal of Honor recipient, Mr. John Baca, speak about his life story.  He loved his kids deeply and was extremely proud to be a grandpa.  He believed in Christ and currently resides in Heaven with the Lord.

Services were held April 16th at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego and he was buried with full Military Honors.
