Robert Fraser Obituary

The world is a little less interesting place since Robert John Fraser departed it on March 28, 2018. His heart finally gave out because he had lived life with such zest and enduring passion. Bob, as he was known, truly lived life to its fullest. He was born in Brentwood, England on September 3, 1939 and from the beginning was a larger-than-life character. Bob was a lifelong rebel and an adventurous spirit, who arrived in the United States with a little over a dollar in his pocket in 1960. He hitchhiked across North America, eventually finding his bride, Carolyn, in El Dorado, Arkansas. They set out on grand adventures together, living in England, Canada and Australia before returning to the United States in 1974. Bob was an entrepreneur, a world traveler, a farmer and an arborist, who was happiest working in his garden in the sun. He loved debating politics and world affairs, C-SPAN, Johnny Cash, the United Nations, Carolyn’s food, spending time with his family and above all a good scotch. People were drawn to his charisma and everyone who met him left with a smile on their face. He inspired his family to travel the globe, live with passion, work hard and try to make the world a better place. Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn, children Kelly, Denyse, Michelle, Jonas and Alix, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his sister Ann. Services will be held at Rams Hill Country Club on April 4th at 1:00 pm. Instead of flowers, if you wish to make a contribution in Bob’s honor, please donate to the San Diego chapter of the United Nations Foundation, as Bob deeply believed that the United Nations was humanity’s best hope for a better world.  www.unasd.org.
