Brandon Widner Obituary

Brandon Widner was a native to Ramona, born on January 12, 1987. Our beloved Brandon journeyed home suddenly and unexpected, on April 11, 2024 from a seizure related episode.

Brandon loved being a fur dad, and is survived by his beloved cat Puff, his girlfriend Rachel Gemmell and her daughter Catherine, parents Mary and Richard York, Randy Blackburn and his brother Jarod Widner, Step mother Kathy Widner, step sisters Kimberly Dickerson, and Jackie App. He had a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and really meaningful friends, the extended family of the San Marcos L.A. Fitness community, too many to mention by name.

He graduated from Ramona High school, class of 2005, in which he excelled at academics, sports and being an accomplished social butterfly. He effortlessly engaged in conversations with anyone on any topic, he always had input. Brandon was energetic, opinionated, and hardcore, witty and quick to respond with a comeback. Brandon made his home in North County, Carlsbad, He earned his NCCPT License for personal trainer, as he studied and then graduated from Palomar College, earned a degree in law enforcement, and studied at Cal State San Marcos. He recently obtained his real estate license.

He worked and trained at San Marcos L.A. Fitness for over 16yrs as a dedicated master trainer. Brandon was not only a fitness trainer; he was a beacon of light in the lives of many. His sudden departure leaves a void that will be hard to fill.Brandon was renowned for his unwavering positivity and the heartfelt dedication he brought to his community. His ability to connect with and uplift those around him made him a cherished figure not only within the gym but also across the wider community.

As we remember Brandon, let us also think about the enduring mark he left on our hearts. His kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Brandon we reflect on his remarkable life and the joy he brought to our lives. Brandon lit up every room that he entered, with his humor and a style of is own. He told the best stories (tall tales just like his dad). He loved being with family and friends and always looked forward to the Christmas gatherings to be with uncles, aunts and cousins. Brandon embraced a diverse range of passions, careers, and friendships. Brandon was active in the Spartan races; Comic-con, black Fridays, golf, snowboarding, exploring foods, sports/working out, gaming, to name a few.

Go Rest High on That Mountain! You will be missed.
