Cremation Options

The number of people choosing cremation has increased over the last few years yet cremation has been an option for a very long time. The process is greatly unchanged from its inception years ago. Cremation simply expedites the processing of reducing a human body to bone fragments through the application of intense heat. What you can do before and after cremation is up to the survivors or up to you if you are making pre-arrangements.

Contrary to what some people believe, cremation does not limit your choices.

Cremation and funeral services

The choice of cremation neither eliminates nor requires a funeral service. This can range from a simple “direct” cremation or one that includes traditional/contemporary services. These services are often planned before or after a cremation takes place. A funeral service can be followed by cremation – meaning it can be exactly the same service of one that is followed by earth burial. Services can be as elaborate or as simple as you choose. We encourage that the services be personalized to reflect the life of the deceased. Prior to or during the arrangement/prearrangement conference we can go over all of your options. Just remember you are not limited. You can still have a viewing for your loved one, a service with their body present – or not. You have many options

Celebration of Life/Memorial Service

Today many people choose rather to celebrate life than to mourn a loss. Life celebrations can be held at many different venues – your church, a hall of your choice, a golf course, country club or our chapel which seats 210. You can have your loved one’s cremated remains present or not. We are here to help you plan this event so it encompasses your needs.

All death care providers offer cremation services. However, there can be huge differences in how these services are provided. Many San Diego County cremation providers have no on-site holding facilities. They must utilize storage warehouses and truly never have physical custody of the deceased. When choosing us you can be assured that your loved one never leaves our care at the funeral home until the cremation process takes place. Transportation, storage and time constraints are just a few of the differences. When you are questioning providers about their cremation care make sure you are aware of how they handle the above items and of any hidden costs or add-ons.   For further information regarding all of your cremation options, please call or email us and we would be happy to discuss any of your questions or concerns.
