Edward Conrad Alouyeous Anderson Jr.

Edward Conrad Alouyeous Anderson Jr. Was born on May 31st, 1959 to Edward and Kathleen (Lowe) Anderson of Nonsuch, Portland and Kingston Jamaica West Indies. He was the oldest of 6 children born to this union, Karen ”Kay”, Ephil “Ann”, Ainsley “Billy”,Melaney, and Alecia “Liz” Anderson. At the age of 9 Edward came to America with some of his family in October of 1969 to Cincinnati Ohio. His other siblings came later when the Family moved to their house on Dalewood Place, in Bond Hill.“Junior” as he was fondly known by family and close friends, graduated from William Woodward High School in Bond Hill. He was a member of the wrestling team in whom he became lifelong friends. (Bulldog 4 Life). Edward remained well rooted in his Jamaican culture and heritage, with Rasta Fari being his first love and the love of his family being close to first place.Edward loved to brag about all his children’s occupations because he was so proud of their accomplishments. Edward studied the scriptures and loved his creator. He kept the Sabbath and would speak to others about the words of the Bible. He also loved music, art, sports, fishing, talking with friends and strangers alike. If anyone knew him, it meant that you have had a meaningful conversation with him at least once in your life. He would have you captivated and mesmerized in no time about his adventures and family in Jamaica After graduation Edward and buddies joined The United States Marine Corps. He served on active duty for 3 Years. He traveled all over and was fortunate to experience other countries, like Okinawa Japan. His home base was Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton where he trained for combat readiness. As a musician, He was known as “Ras Sojie to his fans and friends. His most comfortable place was on stage as he was known for being an amazing singer/ songwriter of Reggae music. He spent many years performing Reggae Music with various bands including but not limited to One Love Band and Fully Fullwood and the Soul Syndicate Band. He has entertained all over the world not only singing but also playing on several sound systems such as NightRider and Jah Light International. He was preceded in death by his grandparents David and Josephine of Kingston Jamaica, Welesly and Cassildah Anderson of Portland Jamaica, His Aunt Delrose Solomon of Canada/Jamaica, His beloved parents Edward and Kathleen (Lowe)Anderson of Nonsuch and Kingston Jamaica.. Edward, Ras Sojie, Anderson Jr. leaves to cherish his wonderful memory His dedicated and loving wife Yolanda Anderson and children of this union, Josiah, Iyjah, Keturah and Evangeleen. Edward loved and cherished all his childrenincluding but not limited to , Jason “Mosey” Hart, Jahwade, Christopher Christopher, Emmanuel, Amanda, Melissa, Carmella Karen Lewis , Sandra, Jahmiela, Imi “Christopher” Anderson, Monique “Munjin” Anderson, Edward Joshua Anderson Jr., Salem Dixon, Asan Dixon and Ilan Dixon, Cara and many other children of his bloodline. He will also be remembered by his beloved and cherished grandchildren Princess Gemma and Prince Issac (mother Monique), Prince Cao, Prince Cai and Princess Cia (mother Carmella), Josiah (mother Cara) to name a few. He also leaves a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many family and friends. His legacy will live on through his family, very talented children and through his music. 

There are no words that can express our great loss but we are comforted in knowing this scripture, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." James 8:31-34. 

 I Am Free by Shannon Lee Moseley Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, To love, to work or play. Tasks undone must stay that way I’ve found that peace at the close of the day. If parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savoured much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now, He set me free.
