Junior Leroy Barker

Our devoted husband and father passed away on December 28, 2022 from pre-existing conditions shortly after contracting COVID-19.  LeRoy served our country as a U.S. Marine and had an impressive 40-year career with Southern California Water Company/American States Water Company.

Lee was a patriotic citizen who enjoyed traveling and service to his community as a member of the Downey Elks.  We will truly miss his sense of humor.  Junior as he was known by his family was born in Michigan on September 4, 1939.  At a young age his family relocated to California where he spent the rest of his life living primarily in Downey, CA then retiring to Ramona, CA.  He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60-years Patricia, daughter Misty Barker-Hilger, son-in-law Paul Hilger, and son Benjamin who preceded his passing. 

A brief military funeral service will be held at Mira Mar National Cemetery on Monday February 20, 2023 at 1:30pm.  Immediately after the service there will be a gathering at the Barker home in Santee, CA.  In lieu of flowers consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Memorial donations and gifts - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)
