Nancy Walker Obituary

Nancy Irene Walker, 93, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Ramona, California,
surrounded by the love of her family.
Nancy was born on October 27, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, to Clifford and Opel Moss. She
spent her childhood in Los Angeles and San Diego and attended Hoover High School.
At just 16 years old, Nancy met the love of her life, Leonard Walker, at a Navy dance in San
Diego. They were married on November 6, 1948, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned
decades and was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together they raised three children
and built a home centered on family, faith, and lasting traditions.
Nancy was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She had a gift
for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Christmas gatherings brought the entire family
together year after year, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Nancy and Leonard enjoyed bowling, camping at their beloved property in Ocotillo Wells,
affectionately known as "Walker Tow", and making trips to Missouri to visit family. She loved
participating in San Diego Ramblers trips, traveling on cruises, cheering on the Padres and
Chargers, and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren from the
sidelines of countless sporting events.
She was an active member of the San Diego Ramblers, the Senior Citizen Club, the First
Congregational Church, and the PTA. Nancy lived her life with a positive outlook, a quick wit,
and a wonderful sense of humor. She was genuine, kind, and always ready with a smile. Many
of her children and grandchildren still hear her familiar words, "Wait until your dad gets home,"
a phrase that became one of her trademarks.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Walker, and her parents,
Clifford and Opel Moss.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Victor) Chalupnik, Larry (Pat) Walker, and Gary (Sheila)
Walker; her grandchildren, Travis (Michele) Chalupnik, Kelly (David) Dill, Laura Chalupnik, Joel
(Missy) Walker, Jeff (Stephanie) Walker, Jake (Crystal) Walker, Victoria (Justin) Stanley, and Erin
(Tom) Summit; her great-grandchildren, Tanner (Riley) Dill, Taylar (Boomer) Irvin, Shelby (Josh)
Trimm, Hunter Summit, Haley Griggs, Nathan Griggs, Dayna Walker, Cole Walker, Cody (Iyanna)
Chalupnik, Connor Chalupnik, Carter Chalupnik, Madeline Chalupnik, Taytum Stanley, Mason
Stanley, Colton Walker, Landon Walker, Jadyn Walker, Haven Walker, and Brody Chalupnik; and
her great-great-grandchildren, Luke Dill and Dalton Irvin.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy's caregivers, whose love,
compassion, and dedication ensured she was always happy, comfortable, and surrounded by
kindness during her final years.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service in
Ramona. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a luncheon at the Stanley
residence.
Nancy's greatest legacy was the family she loved so deeply. Her unwavering devotion, gentle
spirit, infectious humor, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who
