Paul was born in Unionville, Michigan on June 6,1946 to Harold Bauer and Ella Mull. He was the eldest of 9 children and he cared for each and every sibling throughout his young life. He was preceded in death by sisters Jackie Molden, Diana Weber and Robin Bach, and his brothers Sonny Bauer, Rich Bauer and DJ Bauer. He is survived by his two sisters, Nona Engelhardt and Connie Grant. After graduation at Unionville High in 1964 he joined the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator. During this time, he was led to Security Detail for President Nixon in 1970 and an Honorable discharge in 1973 as Staff Sgt. Once discharged he began his education in Design Engineering at Prince George’s Community College and then completed his education in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland. This led him to a prominent career in San Diego, Ca. It was in 1988 that he found the love of his life Lennda Louise Larsen whom he married on April 15, 1989. Along with Lennda came three living children Robbie Bauer, Joseph Aspaas and Yolennda “Summer” Kennedy. For 35 years we all shared love, laughter, growth, and challenges contributing to each other’s lives. Since Paul’s passing, I have envisioned that he is now with my departed son Eric Aspaas. Paul was the greatest of all grandfathers! Yolennda’s children Nicole Thomas (husband Rich Carl), Noelle Thomas (husband Kyle Volkmann), Angel Hivoina, Mandi Hivoina and Robbie Bauer’s daughter Brianna Bauer were the first round of grandchildren he got to enjoy. Robbie Bauer and Mandi Noel gave Paul two additional grandchildren, Liam Asher Noel-Bauer, his only grandson, and Cali Mae Noel-Bauer, the youngest of our granddaughters. He had the privilege of also being a Great grandpa to Brianna Bauer’s daughter Aubree. As you see Paul had a full life with tons of love!
Although very highly trained, Paul was an extremely gentle and nurturing man in his senior years, and he kept us all safe. We did not have to worry about being harmed with him as our protector.
Paul spoiled me, watched over me and made sure I was getting everything I needed. Not always what I wanted. We all love Paul with all of our hearts, and we will never be the same without him. NEVER!
Our hearts are still breaking, and we have so much we want to say, however we need to respect the amount of space we take. I am hoping you all will write your forever memories of Paul so we can see him through your eyes as well.
