Victor Karl Peterson, a fifth-generation resident of Ramona, California, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. Born to Frank Peterson and Alice (Kunkler) Peterson on September 9, 1952, Victor proudly called Ramona home his entire life. He was married to the love of his life, Laura Peterson, and they shared more than 51 years together building a life grounded in commitment, partnership, faith, and family.
Known for his true passion for working with his hands, Victor built a career as a general contractor in Ramona for over 30 years. He was known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic, and he took great pride in doing quality work and serving his community. Outside of work, Victor loved antiques—especially fixing clocks—and spent countless hours tinkering in his shop. He was always funny and had a way of making life fun for everyone around him, sharing his wit, humor, and infectious joy with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Peterson; his children, Kristine Petersen (Russell), Katie Nasco (Troy), Victor James Peterson (Brandi), and Joseph Peterson (Mindy); his sisters, Pamela Clark and Jennifer Hallmann-Murphy; his 11 cherished grandchildren; and 22 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Peterson, and his parents.
Victor will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, whose legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the generations rooted in Ramona. His quick wit and humor will be cherished by all who knew him.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
