In Loving Memory of Alyssa Anne Keen
Alyssa Anne Keen, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, was born on April 25th, 2001, in Poway, California. Her radiant smile graced this world for 22 beautiful years until she peacefully gained her wings on September 17th, 2023, cradled in the loving arms of her devoted mother at Pomerado Hospital.
One of the many lessons Alyssa helped teach the world about was about a condition called Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 is a chromosomal condition in which babies are born with 3 copies of chromosome 18 instead of 2. Little was known about Trisomy 18 when Alyssa was born, but over the last 22 years, the medical community, along with children like Alyssa and their incredible families, have worked to learn more and educate others. Alyssa’s journey was one filled with resilience, love, and unwavering support from her family and friends.
Alyssa leaves behind a large loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her mother, Jessica Keen, her father, Lawrence Keen Jr., and her brother, Casey Joseph Keen, along with countless other family and friends who will forever celebrate Alyssa.
Throughout her life, Alyssa's heart overflowed with love and her spirit radiated positivity. She embarked on numerous adventures and reached significant milestones, including her graduation from Ramona High School in 2019 and participation in their transition program until June of 2023.
Alyssa's infectious sense of humor and beautiful smile lit up the lives of all who knew her. She was a fighter, a true inspiration, and a beacon of strength. Her love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and she deeply appreciated all those who supported and engaged in activities with her.
Alyssa's impact reached far and wide, inspiring others to become better people through her remarkable journey. She was an incredible young woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those privileged to know her.
Services to celebrate Alyssa's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (527 9th St, Ramona, CA 92065) on October 21st, 2023. Doors open at noon with services to start at 1. Following the services please stay and enjoy some light refreshments while we Celebrate the Life and Love that will always be Alyssa.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who loved Alyssa. She touched the lives of many, and she was grateful for every opportunity to show what a true blessing she was to this world.
When the darkness creeps in, remember.. in one of the stars, I shall be living. In one of them, I shall be laughing. Find me there with you.
