Athalia “Faye” Elkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and family member passed away on December 5, 2025 at the age of almost 98. ( Jan 25, 1928 - December 5. 2025)
She was an avid gardener whose hands brought life and beauty to all that she touched. Her garden was a place of calm and color, carefully tended with her love and patience. Equally gifted as an Interior decorator she had a natural eye for design & a talent for transforming any space into a warm and welcoming home. Her sense of style reflected who she was- thoughtful, creative and attentive to detail.
Beyond her many talents, Faye will be remembered by her generous spirit and the pride she had for her family. She found joy in simple moments, meaningful conversations and creating beauty that could be shared with others.
She is survived by her daughter, Josie F. Elkins-Coleman (Michael), her grandchildren. Brandon M. Coleman (Theresa), Jerod R. Coleman (Kelly), Jacob R. Elkins (Rachel) & Lauren F. Elkins. Great grandchildren, Presley Coleman, Kensie Coleman, Ilah Coleman, Scarlet Coleman, Weston Elkins, Nolan Elkins and Dylan Elkins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph R. Elkins and the love of her life Jan L. Gartside.
Her final resting place will be Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, North Carolina with her family.
Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family.
