Carol Mae Micheletti

Carol Mae Micheletti was born in Brownfield, Texas on 09/25/1945 to Tom and Irene Smith. She grew up in Stanton, Texas the youngest of 5 children, with two sisters and two brothers.

She met the love of her life William (Bill) Micheletti while working at Texas Instruments in her twenties and they were married 12/23/1970. After living a few places in Texas and California, Bill's career as an engineer led them to San Diego. They moved to Ramona and built their home in the San Diego Country Estates, where they raised three children and three grandchildren. Her love of animals led her to go back to school to become a certified animal health technician. They spent weekends working in the yard and caring for their various animals over the years including cats, dogs, horses and birds. She loved to sit outside in the evenings and enjoy a glass (or two) of wine. They were married for 31 years before Bill passed away in 2001.

She retired from UCSD a few years after Bill's passing.  She stayed in her home in Ramona for several years before moving to Henderson Nevada, then came back to California. She moved to New Braunfels, Texas in her final days due to declining health to live with her son David. She loved watching the birds and looking at the beautiful flowers in her yard. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and was reunited with Bill in Heaven on 03/24/2026 at 80 years old. She is survived by her three children Shannon, David and Heather, her grandchildren Sherea, Shaylynn and Van and her great-grandchildren.
