Delle McWhorter passed away at her home, in Ramona, on July 25, 2010. Born February 16, 1922 in Memphis, TN, Delle had lived in Ramona for 31 years.. Delle and her two brothers were known as the LeMar Trio. They played and sang on radio and The Grand Ole’ Opry in the late 1930’s. She was also known as the “greatest” by all of her family who loved her dearly. Although they will miss her deeply, they rejoice in knowing that she is in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and suffering no more.
Delle is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbur McWhorter, daughters Donna (Duane) Schaper of Laughlin, NV, Lisa McWhorter of Ramona, Della McWhorter of Depoe Bay, OR, Laura Olah of Corvalis, OR, sons Larry Guyton of Kearney, NE, Gary McWhorter of Anaheim, CA and brother Gerald LeMar of Anaheim, CA. Delle is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Delle will be cremated and there are no services planned. Family would suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tom’s Club at Ramona High School, Ramona, CA.
