Donald Eugene Schumacher was born to Gilbert Charles Schumacher & Catherine Marguerite Clark in Laramie, Wyoming on July 20, 1935. He entered the Kingdom of Heaven where he was greeted by our Lord with open arms on July 24, 2013. He was 78 yrs old.
Don moved to Woodland, CA in 1947 & attended Holy Rosary Grammar School & graduated from Woodland High School.
He attended Oklahoma State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Systems Management at USC & an MBA from UCLA.
He enjoyed a successful 21 year military career & retired as a Major in the US Air Force on August 1, 1976. He went on to have another 20 year career in the Aerospace Industry & retired to Ramona, CA with his wife, Jeanette in 2001.
Don was an avid golfer, community leader, active church member, & faithful servant to his country & our Lord. He enjoyed a good martini, loved Jeanette's home cooking, & was a connoisseur of fine wines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert & Catherine Schumacher. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Schumacher, his sister, Judith K. Schumacher, his children, Michael (Brenda) Grabbe, Laura Grabbe, Kim (William) Anderson, David & Scott Schumacher, & Traci (Douglas) Thompson. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren + one on the way: Megan, Ashley, Allison, John Michael, Alex, Brian, Mitchell, Skyler, Dylan, & Kaycee. He is a great grandfather to Nathan & Joshua + one on the way. He is also survived by many cousins including Vivian Grant, Judy Sheppard, & Terri Schumacher. He leaves numerous lifelong friends who with the rest of us will miss him dearly & look forward to seeing him again when we are so blessed to be greeted by him in heaven. We love you Schu!
