Edith Palmer Wright

Edith Pauline Wright passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, with her oldest daughter and oldest son at her side. Edith was born to Cecil H. Palmer and Cecil L. Palmer in Toledo, Ohio in 1940. Edith’s siblings were Elizabeth, Wayman, Gerald, Frances, and Bonita Palmer.

A graduate of Libby High School, Edith married Ernest Wright in 1958 and moved to Columbus, Ohio while Ernest attended Ohio State University. Edith and Ernest moved to Los Angeles, California in 1960 and then to San Diego, California in 1961. Edith and Ernest separated in 1979. Edith remained a resident of San Diego for the remainder of her life.

Education was extremely important to Edith. At age 60, she graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2000. Prior to that time, she worked as a professional model for several years. For more than 25 years, she was a licensed California real estate broker.

Edith became a Christian at an early age and was baptized in 1998.

Edith is remembered as a humble and selfless woman of faith. As the matriarch of her family, Edith created, nurtured, and expanded an unyielding bond of love that lives within each of her descendants.

Edith is survived by her four children, Cheryl Danita Wright, MD., Reverend Dr. Laura Wright Gordon, CPA, Ernest H. Wright II, Esq., and Howard Gregory Wright; and by 11 grandchildren, and by 5 great-grandchildren.
