Emma Lewis Morse passed away on May 12, 2023 peacefully in her home just two months shy of her 100th birthday after having the loving care of her daughter, family and friends. She was a 35 year resident of San Diego Country Estates in Ramona, California and previously lived 30 years in San Gabriel, California.
Born July 5, 1923 in Conrad, Montana, she grew up with one brother and four sisters. Her parents homesteaded in Cut Bank, Montana. Emma attended Montana State University in 1939 then moved to Seattle, Washington and worked for the Engineering Dept. of Boeing at the start of World War II in 1941.
It was there she met the love of her life George Morse. They were married in Cut Bank, Montana in 1944 and lived and built their home in Bellevue, Washington where in Seattle, Washington their children, Gary and Sue were born.
In 1953 an employment opportunity for George as Manager of Operations at United Carr, Division of TRW, brought them to San Gabriel, California. They were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Alhambra. God and her church were in her heart at all times being a devoted Christian.
After George retired in 1989, they moved to the San Diego Country Estates in Ramona where they were members of the First Congregational Church of Ramona giving a lifelong of devotion to that fellowship. Emma lived life proudly with the principles of love, friendship and caring. Her long lasting friendships in the church and community enriched their lives always.
Emma's friendship further evolved in joining the Women's Golf Club at the San Vicente Golf Course along with playing Bridge and cards with friends. She and George enjoyed taking RV trips for years throughout the Western states. Emma will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife and good friend to all.
She is survived by her daughter Sue Albert, daughter-in-law Jan Morse, granddaughters Wendy and Tara, and great grandchildren Alizay, Elyas, Hannah, and Nora.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mabel Lewis and devoted husband, George. Gary, her son, recently passing after Emma.
A celebration of Emma's life will be held on August 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Ramona, 404 Eight Street, Ramona Ca. 92065 wherein memorials may be sent in her memory.
