Floriene Mae Steetle Plueger

Floriene Mae Steetle Plueger, born May 13, 1937, passed away January 5, 2010. Her wish was to pass away in her home, in her own bed, with her dog, Chi Chi, close. This she did. They will be buried together. Floriene attended elementary school in Julian and graduated from Grossmont High School in 1954. She married Theodore Bradley Plueger on December 18, 1954. They had one son, Timothy Wayne Plueger, who was born December 18, 1955. He married Marion Rebecca Fields on August 8, 1981. Tim passed away April 2, 1983. He never saw his only daughter, Laticia Joel Plueger Gentry, born August 17, 1983, or his grandchildren, Destiny, William Allen, Zachary, Antony and Rebekah.

Floriene and Teddy ran the paper route beginning June 1, 1958, for the San Diego Union Tribune until October 31, 2000. In between, Floriene worked for Jack ad Virginia Stadille at Jack's Grocery in Julian. They were longtime residents of Julian and moved to Ramona to be closer to the newspaper business. Teddy passed away June 16, 2007. Shortly after Teddy's passing, Floriene moved to Las Vegas, NV where her longtime family friend, Jerry Newman, and family took her under their wing.

Floriene went to concerts, shows, ate out a lot and as she said, "had a lot of fun" with the Newman family and their grandchildren who made her smile. She leaves a large void in the Newman hearts.

Viewing at Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary in Ramona will be on Friday, January 15, 2010, at 6pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Hillside Community Church in Julian at 11am. Pastor Fred Slaughter officiating. Final interment will take place after the funeral service at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Julian.
