Francis Emerson Haslinger Sr., “Frank”, 82 years old of Julian, California, peacefully passed away early morning on Friday, October 24th, 2025 at the home of his son in San Diego, California.
A viewing remembrance service will be held on Thursday, November 6th, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bonham Bros. & Stewart mortuary at 321 12th Street in Ramona, California. All arrangements are being made through here.
A burial service will be held Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery at 2640 Glenridge Rd, Escondido.
Frank was born in Hood River, Oregon to George Joseph Haslinger Sr. and Aurelia Felice Beauchamp on April 9th, 1943. His early youth was spent in Oregon along with his older brothers, Charles Brodie and George Joseph Haslinger Jr . Then the family moved to San Diego where he spent his teen years. He attended San Diego City college where he met Elizabeth Rose Weiss. He transferred & graduated from San Diego State University. He married Elizabeth (Betty) on February 15th, 1965 in San Diego, California. They had three children; Francis Emerson Haslinger Jr., Paul William Haslinger, and Shannon Lee Haslinger.
He was raised in the Catholic Church, then when he married Elizabeth, they decided to raise their family in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was active in the Santee community of San Diego county, where he and Betty raised their family. He was involved in the Santee Little League baseball with both boys. He was active in the Mormon church among also being a Cub Scouts leader when both boys were young. He was a Master Mason in Freemasonry, Blue lodge #407, La Mesa. He was actively involved as a supportive father and an Associate Bethel Guardian in Job’s Daughters Bethel #331, La Mesa.
After becoming a widower in 1992, he remarried in 1993 to Susanne Kaye Riddle. He gained two more children in teenagers Joshua William Riddle and Juliette Susanne Riddle. After Susie’s passing in 2018, he moved from Santee to Julian, California. Where he retired on his mountain acres, tending to his mini-orchard and began building his dream home.
He worked in the grocery trade in the early years of marriage then switched to the construction trade. He worked as a carpenter, learning the full construction trade & eventually specialized in tilt-up concrete as a super-intendant until he retired from Douglas E. Barnhart construction company. In the intermediary years, he was owner of Heritage II construction. Throughout San Diego and San Diego County he leaves an immense trail of commercial and military sites where he constructed buildings in every corner.
Frank is preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Rose, his second wife Susanne Kay and his son, Paul William. Frank is survived by his son, Francis Emerson Haslinger Jr., his daughter, Shannon Lee Gonzalez, his son, Joshua William Riddle, his daughter, Juliette Susanne Riddle and his grandchildren, Sebastian Enrique Gonzalez, Victoriana Rose Gonzalez and Angelique Nadine Gonzalez, Isabel Paige Riddle, Chloe Juliette Riddle, Grayson Richard Riddle and Savannah Kealy Louise McTaggart and great granddaughter Cordelia Rose McTaggart-Harper and his “adopted” son Mike Dart
As he would say, “I’ll be Frank with you.”
You have left the world but you will stay in our hearts forever.
