Fred Weldon Hawkins passed away on September 27, 2025. He was a lifelong San Diego County resident. He was born to Chester and Agnes Hawkins on January 3rd, 1941. He grew up in La Mesa and graduated from Helix High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a Paramedic and drove ambulances for over 30 years. He also enjoyed driving an airport shuttle during his retirement years.
Fred met and fell in love with Patricia Warren in the 1970’s and spent many years together until her passing in 2015. During the last few years, he lived in Ramona and enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Center and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Agnes Hawkins, his wife Patricia Hawkins, and son Wayne Hawkins. He is survived by his brothers Larry (Jeanine) Hawkins of Ramona and Harold Hawkins of Golden Valley, AZ and his sister Brenda Sieglitz of La Mesa,CA, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services for Fred will be held at Miramar National Cemetery at 5795 Nobel Drive San Diego, CA at 2pm. Thursday, November 6th, 2025.
