Gertie Van Tol

Long time resident of Ramona, Gertie van Tol went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2022.  She was 90 years old.

She was born in the Netherlands in 1931 and immigrated to America with her parents and one year old sister in 1934.  She was the eldest of six siblings.  

In 1952, after graduating from Grossmont High School she married John van Tol, also from the Netherlands.  They began their life together in Ramona where they started their first dairy farm.  She loved being a homemaker and raising her sons on the dairy.  She had seven sons, 32 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and one great, great, grandchild.

The funeral will be held at Grace Community Church, 1234 Barger Place, Ramona, CA  at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12.  The family asks that all donations in her honor go to Ramona Valley Presbyterian Church where she was a founding member. Contact Pastor Andy at (760)787-1570.
