Greg Sherman Obituary

Thomas Gregory Sherman, affectionately known as Greg, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at the age of 59, at his home in Ramona, California. Born on December 3, 1964, in Jacinto City, Texas, Greg was the beloved son of Julia Land Owens and the late Thomas Gregory Sherman, Sr.

Greg's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication and service to others. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft director for four years, a role he was immensely proud of. Following his military service, Greg became a respected project and business manager, specializing in large-scale environmental remediation and construction projects for over 35 years. Greg's academic pursuits included his graduation cum laude from Palomar College with a degree in geology, and studies at Utah State University in business administration and management. Greg's 37 years of sobriety were a testament to his strength and resilience, and he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

For the past 29 years, Greg called Ramona home. He was a devoted husband to Jacqueline Sherman, with whom he shared nearly three decades of love and companionship. Greg was also a caring father to his three stepchildren: Janene Asgeirsson and her husband Joseph, Thomas Stuart and his wife Vicki, and Sean Stuart and his wife Michaela, and was a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren, Madison, Alyson, Reagan, Bryce, and Ian.

Greg is also survived by his loving mother, Julia Land Owens and her husband Tommy, his sister Leslie Neff and her husband Jay, his brother Jeff Sherman and his wife Tammy, and his 3 nephews (Colton, Mason, and Grayson), 2 nieces (Megan and Willa), and one great nephew (Oliver). He will be deeply missed by his extended family and a host of friends.

Greg's passions included traveling the world, exploring historical sites, and spending time with his cherished French Bulldog, Coco. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, his steadfast commitment to his family, and his unwavering devotion to his wife Jacque.

A celebration of Greg's life will be held on July 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Calvary Chapel Ramona, located at 114 14th Street, Suite D, Ramona, CA 92065, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Greg's memory to Tunnel to Towers, a charitable organization founded in tribute to New York Fire Department firefighter Stephen Siller, who was killed during the September 11 attacks. Donations can be made at https://t2t.org/donate/.

Greg's legacy of love, generosity, and commitment to his family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He will be missed beyond measure.  May he rest in peace.
