Howard E. Hanafin
April 26, 1914 – January 3, 2011
Howard E. Hanafin, 96, died peacefully January 3, 2011 in his home with his beloved wife Liz, caring sister-in-law, Racheal and precious dog Angel by his side.
Howard was born April 26, 1914 in San Diego,CA. He attended San Diego Union Academy and La Sierra University. For many years he owned and operated Escondido Nutrition Center, a well-known health food store in southern California. For the past 23 years he and his wife have enjoyed living in Ramona, CA and College Place, WA.
He is preceded in death by wives Lela and Annabelle and his brother, Carl. He is survived by his wife Liz, sons Garry, Terry, Ken; daughters Candace, Karen; stepdaughters Kayron, Johnabeth and nephew Dennis. Also nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Escondido Seventh-day Adventist church and enjoyed attending the Village Seventh-day Adventist church in College Place WA.
Howard’s favorite activities included spending time with family, traveling, reading, creating and building residential and commercial buildings.
Howard had a zest for life and never knew a stranger. He wore a cheerful smile and had an infectious positive attitude and became a mentor to many. He blessed his family and friends with words of love, affirmation and praise. He lived life to the fullest and is dearly loved and will be forever missed.
