John Caudill

July 24, 1935 – September 18, 2010

John “Uncle Johnny” Caudill, passed away on September 18, 2010 at his San Diego home. He was a retired USPS Supervisor and was dedicated to caring for his mother who preceded him in death. John is survived by his sister Della Coccaro and dozens of nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He is also survived by his longtime friend and traveling companion, Marie.

John was an avid reader, especially of history and nature. He had an extensive library and personal journal collection. Since he was a young man his passion was traveling. He had truly been all around the globe, including China (where he literally lost his shirt and had to find traditional garb for the duration of his trip), Australia, Europe, South America and Alaska.

John was a very unique character. He had some interesting collections from his travels. Many childhood memories of his nieces and nephews include the stories that surround those artifacts. They have shared times of learning to shoot, hunt and fish as well as making broken glass mosaic portraits. His memory will not easily fade and will be held dearly by all who knew and loved him.

A private family memorial will be held this Sunday, September 26, 2010 in his nephew’s home in Rancho San Diego.

Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
