Lee Douglas Jamme

Lee Douglas Jamme (L.D.) joined his mother, cousin Bobby, and his beloved horse, Pick-a-Fox, in the heavens on March 27, 2011. Considering his love for nature, animals, and all this earth has to offer, it is the perfect next step. Lee died too young, and unexpectedly, but is now at peace.

L.D. was born on April 24, 1941 in Spokane, Washington. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, serving his country for 4 years. He received his M.A. in Taxation from Golden Gate University and his career included 20 years of service as a Sheriff in Sonoma County, and 10 years in San Diego as a Public Administrator.

L.D. was an amazingly talented craftsman. The beautiful pieces he built from wood will live on in the homes of the special persons he gifted them to. His green thumb was present year-round, growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables, even in the driest of all climates. Along with Lee's connection to nature, he also appreciated the simplicities of life: a good sunset, a beautiful rock, and listening to country music with his wife, Susan, while drifting along the Colorado River in their boat. He also enjoyed a well-made dirty martini and a winning hand of blackjack, a deep love for American history, and a solid night's sleep. Above all, his greatest love was his wife, Susan. Together they created many memories and his dedication to her was unsurpassed.

L.D. is survived by his wife Susan Jamme, his sister Jeanie Lombardo, his mother-in-law Shirley Ball, his children Colin and Nicole Stowell, Charity and Josh Byrnes, Jacob Stowell, Dande Tucker and Jeff Bagby, his six grandchildren Kelton and Payton, Avery and Darby, Emma and Lauren, and his four beloved dogs.

In remembrance of this remarkable man, look outside at what all life has to offer and give thanks for your blessings. He was a true salt of the earth, a rare and precious honorable man.
