Linda C Hopkins

Linda Hopkins, a Ramona resident since 1992, passed away comfortably in her home on August 20, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.  Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and daughter. 

Born in London England on May 10, 1950, Linda would spend the first 28 years of her life in England where she met her husband Roy and together had 3 beautiful daughters, Marie, Sharon, and Susanne. In July of 1978, Linda, Roy, and their 3 children made a monumental life change and immigrated to the United States of America.  They would live in Los Angeles county for 14 years, where Linda gave birth to their only American born child, John.  Along with being a stay at home mom at times, Linda also worked as a telephone operator for an answering service, for the majority of her time in Los Angeles County. 

In 1992, a change from city life was needed.  Linda and Roy moved with their 2 youngest children to the beautiful town of Ramona.  Linda loved Ramona so much that she encouraged her own mother Audrey and eldest daughter, Marie along with Marie’s 2 children (Linda’s Grandchildren) to move to Ramona.   

Sadly, Linda lost Roy in 1995, and her mother, Audrey in 1997.  Being the strong, determined woman she truly was, she began taking Palomar college night courses in Medical Administration at Ramona High School.  Now a single mother, she was determined to provide for her family and begin a career.  In 1997 after odd jobs during the day and completing her certification at night, Linda would begin her career with the Centre for Health Care in Rancho Bernardo in their Medical Records department.  It was during this time she also decided to foster her 3 grandchildren, Desiree, James, and Domonique, who she would eventually come to adopt in 2002.   

Linda transferred to the new Ramona offices and remained with what is now Arch Health Partners, until she retired in 2016, as a Patient Service Representative, after 19 years with the company. 

Linda was diagnosed with Cancer in September of 2019 and again, being the strong perseverant  person she was, was determined to fight.  For almost 2 years, she fought her cancer with chemo and radiation therapy.  She fought with dignity and grace. She will forever be remembered for her strength, compassion for helping others, and her love for her family. 

Linda was Survived by:
Children: Sharon and son-in-law Frank, Susanne and daughter-in-law Inger, John and daughter-in-law Ashleigh, and son-in-law Laurence

Grand Children: Desiree and grandson-in-law Mario, James, Domonique and grandson-in-law Kevin, Frankie, Leif, Michael, Michaela, Everleigh, and Ariel.

Great-Grand Children: Lauralei, Adaline, and Maverick

Linda was preceded in death by her Parents Audrey and Alfred, Husband Roy, and Daughter Marie

Memorial Service will be held at Bonham Bros and Stewart Mortuary on September 14th at 11:30am.  Reception will immediately follow at La Finquita Winery.
