Mark Berger of San Diego, CA, passed away on January 23, 2021. He was the son of Nancy and Roger Berger of Torrance, California. He graduated from South High School in Torrance, and then from Lane Tech Trade School with honors. A career in construction followed when he founded Kalmark Construction Company in San Diego, CA, a passion which lasts to this very day.
Mark was a gifted sportsman, excelled in golf, loved going to the ponies at Del Mar race track, and trips to Las Vegas. He loved to tinker with his “toys,” which included his antique cars, fishing boat, dune buggies and Samoyed dogs.
Mark had the highest love for his family and friends. He is survived by his parents Roger (Nancy) Berger, cherished brother of Susan (Richard) Drucker, Karen Berger, David Berger, and Kathleen (Michael) Brucher. Beloved Uncle to Scott, Eric, Marc, Rita, Brianna, Chase and Reece. No one had greater respect for friends and people who needed a helping hand.
The full measure of Mark’s life is the deep affection felt by his family and friends. He will be sadly missed for a long time. Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the YMCA at https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/3104818.
Bonham Bros & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
