Mary June attended her local high school and then the University of North Texas. During these educational years she embraced her love of music by singing in school choirs & trios, playing the saxophone in both marching and concert bands and later was the only female member in a 50's dance band. With becoming a school teacher her goal she initally turned down her first teaching offer in Wisconsin and briefly worked for a financial company.

In 1957, Mary June was offered a second grade teaching position in California at Warner Union Elementary. As she settled into her new surroundings, she met her future husband Rinaldo (Dee) DiPaolo, who was working at the local navy base. They were married June 12, 1959 at the Santa Ysabel Mission. She and Dee lived in the Lake Henshaw area until 1988 where they raised three daughters. After 34 years off teaching, she retired in 1990 and began new adventures living in Ranchita, where she spent her remaining years.

Along with participating in numerous school sponsored events, Mary June was very active in community affairs, including the Lions & Lioness Clubs, Montezuma Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She played the organ at church for many years, enjoyed her piano & music and loved to read and solve crossword puzzles. She made visits to her favorite slot machines at the local casinos, was an avid jeopardy watcher and strived to beat her family at scrabble games.

Mary June is survived by her daughters, Lisa A. Dipaolo-Schweers & Billy of Ranitcha, CA, Diana D. Donohue & Dale of Dolores, CO, Cara L. of CA, brother Richard McIntosh & Diana of Edmonds, WA, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
