I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. Even though I only saw Mary a handful of times at the Hands Across the Border events, she was a kind woman who I always enjoyed talking to and will miss seeing at our yearly reunions. My condolences and prayers to her family.
All of Mary’s friends in North Wales are greatly saddened to hear of her death. We have many happy memories of her visits with us and at reunions which will be treasured.
We send our sympathies to Mary’s family and Jeno.
Glenys and I were so saddened by Mary’s death. Her indomitable spirit was an inspiration and example to me. I mourn her passing and extend my sympathies to Mary’s family, friends and Jeno.
I met Mary thru Bertha Sanchez, both having volunteered for PCI in Viet Nam during the war. For years I have been coming to San Diego for Hands Across the Border and looked forward to seeing her. She was such a warm kind person so full of life and I loved listening to her adventures including bonge jumping which she was planning to do for her 90th birthday. I will miss her very much as I’m sure her family and friends will. Fondly, Marina McKenzie
Mary was my surrogate mother in many ways, both in Vietnam and afterwards during my two years spent in San Diego. She was a wonderfully kind person with an unbelievable zest for life and a contagious sense of humor. I cherish the 45 years I have known this amazing woman, and her passing will leave a huge void. Our thoughts are with Jeno and Mary’s family during this most difficult time.
Mary will always be “Moppy”to me. What a wealth of memories we share over a long period of time.We will all miss her.

I just saw Mary on Friday night, she was her wonderful funny self and full of energy. I was shocked to hear of her passing today. She was a wonderful friend and she will truly be missed. We love both Jeno and Mary very much, my love and prayers go out to the family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeno and Mary’s family as they cope with her death. She is at peace now. Mary was always full of life and energy at our Project Concern Vietnam reunions and other events. She enjoyed the challenges of bungee jumping in New Zealand at age 70 and doing a sky dive in So. Calif. in her later years. She loved traveling and her sense of adventure took her to many places. Mary was a special lady who will be forever remembered by many of her PCI friends.
With love for the many memories and in great sadness for losing a wonderful friend. Bertha Sanchez and Vangie Griepenstroh
