I worked as an intern for Congressman Hunter and I met Mac at the office. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, he was always very kind to me and was very generous. He was a hard worker and Ill always keep fond memories of him.
I was sorry to hear of Nelson’s passing.I was a childhood friend. We carpooled to Calverton together for many years. His smile and laughter will be missed by all.
Mac was a hero for me and for everyone at my local small business. He fought tirelessly to help us overcome federal and state bureaucratic miscommunications that threatened to close us down last year. It was only through his efforts that we are even operating today. It broke my heart when I called to his office today to thank him for his efforts and to inform him of our success in overcoming the issues. They told me that he had passed away, and I am stunned. I, my business partners, my employees and my students will always remember Mac as a man who worked tirelessly to help others. Thank you, Mac. You are a real hero.
A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter;
he who finds one finds a treasure.
A faithful friend is beyond price,
no sum can balance his worth.
Rest In Peace my faithful friend.
I met Mac at Congressman Hunter’s office a few years ago. I didn’t know him well, but he left a lasting impression on me. My deepest condolences to the family and many close friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mac, you will be missed, more than you know. You brought a lot of us a ton of laughter and a bunch of hard work, which we did willingly and with lot’s of laughs for the Chamber. You were a catalyst, and from what I’ve read here and heard today it was not just at the Chamber but elsewhere! You touched many, many lives and we are forever grateful. Susan and family, I can not even imagine your loss. Thank you for letting us share with you today at the services. It wasn’t an easy day for any of us, but it was good day to remember and reflect. May peace be with you and the family in the days to come. Many hugs and warm thoughts, Jeanne
Mac,
As neighbors of Mac & Susan I enjoyed my conversations with Mac about our local sports teams with the occasional foray into politics.
And he was always willing to let me use his dumpster and that makes him an invaluable neighbor in my book.
Our thoughts go out to Susan and your family, we will miss Mac.
Please accept our deepest condolences. Our prayers are with the family and close friends.

You have helped me during the past 4 years with my VA claim appeals issues. During those 4 years, a relationship was established that was so strong, that when I learned this morning of your death, I cried. I havent cried over the loss of a friend since my tenure in the Marine Corps. Words cannot express to your family how sorry I am. I know you are in a wonderful place now, and your legacy will not fade. God bless the MacWilliams family, and God bless you Mac. You are a patriot, a loving husband, a Veterans advocate, and my friend.
As one of the many Vets that MAC helped I would Like to send my prayers to the Family.

I went to Calverton with Nelson We were both starting pitchers on the baseball team when i pitched he played outfield when he pitched i played outfied i dont know what i liked better …pitching or watching him blow his 88 mph fastball by opposing batters
I was only acquintances with Mac through the VA but he definitely took his job seriously and was the go to guy…so sorry for the loss and prayers are with you.
Mac,
Thank you for your relentless support of our friend Liam Houck. You have made so much progress on his behalf with TriCare. Many other children and dependents of our US Service Members will benefit from your efforts.
On behalf of the Family of Ramona, Thank you and may you be safely home with the Lord.
Robert.
I was so sorry to hear of Nelson’s passing. He was a year behind me at Calverton and I have fond memories of playing baseball with him. He had a feisty disposition to go along with a wicked fastball, and he wasn’t afraid to bring one inside if someone crowded the plate. Indeed, he would tell us benchwarmers to watch us the next inning if a certain player was crowding the plate. Nelson had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed spending time with him. It certainly sounds like he grew to be a respected and beloved man. My condolences to the family.

To Nelson’s family: Nelson and I were in the same class at Calverton and graduated together. He was a good friend, and we shared alot of great times together. He was very bright and had an excellent sense of humor. I remember going to listen to his band. They loved to play, “Joy to the World”. Periodically, through the years, Nelson would call me just to talk. I always enjoyed our conversations. I will always hold fond memories of him. So very sorry for your loss.
My 91 year old father Tom, a Veteran of WWII, and our family is deeply saddened by Mac’s passing. Our condolences go out to the MacWilliams family. We will keep you in our prayers.

No one could tell a story like Mac, he always had that smile and twinkle in his eyes that made you wonder. We will truly miss you. Thanks for the memories.
Mac’s legacy in the Navy, especially the rotary wing community, and veterans’ community will last forever. The work he’d done for so many military veterans throughout our region while working for Rep Duncan Hunter, and Rep Duncan D. Hunter helped so many. We’ll miss him at all our San Diego County VAC, UVC and “One VA” CAB meetings.
You were a special part of my life and I will always have the crazy memories of our childhood and a beautiful son that loves you to remind me. <3 Karen
Mac,
It’s sad to see you go.
I just got to say that having a good friend like you and losing you is tough, but not having a good friend like you would have been tougher.
Farewell good Friend.

My deepest sympathy to the MacWilliams family.
Every morning I would come to work and say good morning and you would say, “Is it?” in that gruff tone you always took. And I would laugh and it suddenly became a good day, no matter what.
I will miss you. You were the best boss I ever had.
