Patricia Goulart Obituary

With loving and honored memory of our Mother, our family and friends come together to celebrate the life of our dear mother Patricia Dudley-Goulart, who passed on February 23 at the age of 94. Born on August 11, 1931 in San Diego California, and entered into rest surrounded by family and friends of the 23rd of February 2026. Her spirit is now resting in peace with two of her children who preceded her in death - Jeannie & Alvin. She had five children total, with three that survived her: Catherine Senior, Annette Rosen, and Patty Ybarra who gave her a total of thirty-one grand and great grandchildren that she cherished. (11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren)

All who knew Pat, know she was an up front, truthful, no BS firecracker! She always told you how it is/was with utmost honesty She loved her family, friends, and sharing history. Pat was a highly intelligent woman who was curious, a problem solver, resourceful, tenacious, strong, beautiful, witty, very patriotic, and intensely independent... with one of her favorite songs being "I did it my way".

She enjoyed a unique childhood with memories and mementos that were invaluable to recording the history of the San Diego Lighthouses in a book names as such. Her children are the 2nd generation descendants of James Dudley, the last official Lighthouse Keeper from 1928-1852 at the Point Loma Lighthouse under the authority of the Department of Commerce/Interior and U.S. Coast Guard before. Lighthouses were automated and no longer required live personnel to maintain them. Pat, her sister Joan Eayrs and brother Robert Dudley are the absolute "End of an Era" of Lighthouse Keeping. Her two siblings and she lived at the San Diego light for the first nineteen and twenty years of their lives.

Pat attended Point Loma High School, then afterwards one of her first jobs was working at the now defunct "Oscars Drive-In" wearing a cowboy hat, vest and marionette boots. While working there, she entered a modeling competition held at the Hotel Coronado to become the "Pepsi Girl" for the Oscar's Drive-In billboard. She later became a bookkeeper for various companies, including Rigid Knives - a brand started in the early 1970s by a few knife makers who were previously working for Buck Knives.

She married three times. During her last marriage to Al Goulart she and their children supported a beekeeping business and a store "A-Z Bee Supplies" in the 70s - 80s in El Cajon, removing swarms of bees, hornets or wasps from local homes and business, where she donned protective gear to join in the removals.

Next, she was involved with the publication of the book "Lighthouses of San Diego" to supply the authors with valuable historical information along with donating historical documents and items to the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. She was a docent at the Cabrillo National Monument, where The Old Point Loma Lighthouse resides and dressed the part with clothes worn during that time, and was also a docent on the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to point out landmarks between San Diego - all volunteer, non-profit organizations that monitors the Shelter Island boat ramp, the busiest boat ramp in all of California. There were many weekends she would be out on the ramp guiding boats in and out of the ramp. She was a member of the Kearny Mesa Lodge 1852 where she loved to dance, play games and socialize.

With her never ending energy, she later got into several side hustles selling Zocai dark chocolate, then NuSkin anti-aging products, and finally was a Travel MedEvac rep in San Diego County for a number of years where she had great fun at the San Diego Yacht Club in 2016 insuring members and helping pack up enormous amounts of school supplies for their Mexico cruise. Toward the end of her life, she crocheted pot holders to sell.

In closing, dear Pat, your family and friends will always cherish the love and memories they have shared with you. This day we are reminded of your love fo us, your love for life, your readiness for adventure, and your amazing spirit. We will continue to learn from you by keeping your love for us close to our hearts and memories of you clear in our minds.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
