Paul Eugene Salow

Paul E. Salow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away
peacefully on June 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 6, 1930, in Los
Angeles, California, Paul was the son of Leslie Otto Salow (Pennsylvania) and Katherine Anita
Farrell (California). A proud 4th-generation Californian, Paul lived a full and remarkable life,
leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and ingenuity.
Paul graduated from Whittier High School in 1949, where he developed a passion for cars and
hot rods. He was a proud member of the Strokers Car Club in 1949 and owned a series of classic
hot rods from 1939, 1940, and 1941. His love for building and restoring cars continued
throughout his life, culminating in the construction of his very own '32 Deuce hot rod.
In 1951, Paul joined the U.S. Navy and embarked on an adventure that took him around the
world as a submariner, based out of New London, Connecticut. He served with distinction
aboard submarines (SS) and was honorably discharged in 1955. It was during his time that he fell
in love with Sharon. The two were married for an incredible 67 years, sharing a bond filled with
love, partnership, and countless cherished memories.
After his service, Paul worked for Pacific Bell/ATT before following his entrepreneurial spirit
and becoming the trusted "local telephone man" in Ramona, California. A man of boundless
talents, Paul was an incredible handyman who could build or fix just about anything. His
creativity and resourcefulness were admired by all who knew him.
Paul's passions extended far beyond his work. He loved boating, waterskiing, and riding quads in
Mexico, with his beloved family by his side and enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, exploring
new places, and making cherished memories.
Above all, Paul adored his family. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, his three children,
Cynthia Salow, Kathy Kirk and Paul Salow, five grandchildren, and lots of great grandchildren
whom he loved deeply. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he took immense
pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Paul was known for his unique and infectious laugh, a sound that could brighten any room and
bring joy to everyone around him.
Paul's life was a testament to hard work, adventure, and unconditional love. His legacy will live
on through his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Paul. You will be missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you
touched.
