Rick "Pops" Karaba passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2010. Born April 8, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rick had lived in Ramona since 1993. He worked for 37 years as a machinist and most recently in the aerospace/electronics industry. Rick had a passion for the desert, most particularly Glamis. He loved his sand toys and just being in the outdoors, enjoying nature. He was drawn to the peaceful environment. He was also a CB radio enthusiast and a deer hunter in Wisconsin.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacqueline, daughter Gerri Losch of Ramona, son Rick Jr. of Ramona, 6 grandchildren, Krystina, Kourtney, Kassandra, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Richard III and 3 great grandchildren Iris, Irene, Lyliann, 2 brothers Mario (Linda) of Wisconsin, Kenneth of Wisconsin and sister Patricia.

Family will be having private services.
