Bob was born in Michigan in 1945. He attended school in Fallbrook, CA where he met his first wife Laurie. They were married for 33 years and had 3 children. In 1970 he entered the CHP academy and retired in 2000 after 30 years of service. The last 22 years of his life he was an auto theft investigator. After retirement he worked at The Border Station Parking Log, Stratton Construction, and Ransom Brothers. Once Bob decided to take retirement seriously, you could find him at the Country Kitchen in the mornings with the boys, fishing for bass at Lake Sutherland, hanging out at the Ramona Auto Dismantling, volunteering at the local thrift store, or building owl boxes in his garage.
Bob was a wonderful man and those who were lucky enough to know him will remember him for his slightly kooky sense of humor and his good heart. Bob’s most important dedication was for the love and support of his family.
Bob is survived by his wife Maggie, son Robert, daughters Kelly and Kristina, several grandchildren and other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Bonham Bros & Stewart Mortuary Chapel in Ramona. A reception will follow at the family home
Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
