Robert "Bob" Weldy of Jamul, CA, passed away January 6, 2024 at the age of 76 from complications of lung cancer. Bob was born January 16, 1948 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary, his parents, brother and two sisters. He is survived by his children Jo Lee Auburne (Wendy), Wylie Weldy, and Wanda Weldy Livelsberger, as well as his sisters Barbara, Jody, and Patsy, and two grandchildren Sarah Weldy and Jacob Rowland.
Bob graduated from Mount Miguel HS in San Diego, and served six years in the Airforce and was a Vietnam War veteran. After honorably leaving the military, Bob worked for NASCO, as a trucker, and as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for several school districts until he retired to care for his wife.
Bob will be missed and always remembered as one of the most caring, hardworking, and selfless men we have known. You could always spot him in a crowd smiling from beneath his trademark cowboy hat, and gleaming brass BOB belt buckle.
Graveside services for Bob will be held at Singing Hills Cemetery at 1PM on January 21st in El Cajon. A celebration of life will follow.
