Roger Penner was born on May 10, 1941. On April 1, 2010 he went to live in heaven with Jesus and his mom and dad, Opal and William Penner. He had lived at Michael's House in Ramona for the last 30 years of his life. Roger had worked at Unyeway until 2009 when he chose to retire and spend his days enjoying Bingo and activities at the Ramona Adult Day Health Care.
Roger loved spending time with all his housemates, going to movies, fishing, eating out and especially bowling. He participated in many bowling tournaments as well as the Special Olympics. He had also been a faithful member of Scout Troop 1291 in Ramona.
Roger is survived by his brother Bruce (Hazel), sisters Wilma (Robert) Foster and Donna Stamper. He is also survived by his ten house brothers, Ken O'Connor, Eldon Setterholm, Steve DeNess, Matt Phelps, Matt Hanson, Joe Carl, Joe San Fillippo, Gary Hager, Casey Wagner and James Bailey as well as the entire staff, past and present, of Michael's House.
Roger is sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. Roger's family and friends wish to thank Dr. Todd Steinberg for his loving care through the years and to Dr. Mark Boiskin for Roger's special care in his last few months.
Burial was at Nuevo Memory Gardens on April 21, 2010.
