Sarah Rae Rapue was granted her angel wings on August 28, 2011. She was born on May 5, 1990, in San Diego, California to Raymond Rapue and Rhonda Rapue. Her father is a retired Fire Captain with CalFire and her mother works for the Julian School District.
Sarah graduated from Julian High School in 2008, where she enjoyed cheerleading, horseback riding and worked at a local animal clinic. She had a heart of gold, gorgeous eyes with a soul to match and a smile that could light up a town. Sarah had the ability to bring everyone together and touch all of us in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Being with family and friends was the most important part of her life and she wished nothing but the best for everyone.
Sarah was actively searching for the Lord throughout her precious life and a testament to that is her last Facebook post "Therefore I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation... my God will hear me" (Micah, verse 7:7). There is no doubt Sarah was an angel sent down from heaven to bless the people who knew her and to give us that twinkle in our eyes that we can carry forever.
Sarah's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. God needed Sarah back. Her work on earth was done. We are grateful that God sent you to us because we are assured that real angels exist.
A memorial service will be held for Sarah on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Community Church located at 2517 "C" Street in Julian. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Julian high School. Recommended parking at the Julian High School (located at 1656 Hwy 78) shuttle service (by the family) will be available to and from the church.
A memorial fund in Sarah's name has been set up at the Rabobank in Julian.
