Sheila “Nana” Vedova died at peace on March 7, 2011, in her cherished Santa Ysabel valley, which she called home for more than fifty years. She was surrounded with the love and comfort of her family and friends. Sheila was born on June 15, 1940 in San Diego, CA. For the past eight years she courageously fought her long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Vedova; Children: Barbara (Richard) Stanley of Julian, Vicky (Wayne) Bryan of Julian, Suzy Loux of Santa Ysabel, and Tony (Lisa) Vedova of Orange County; Grandchildren: Justin Stanley, Brandon Stanley, Missy Pico, Joey Pico, Jeremy Loux, Jonathan Loux, Jamie Loux, Jacob Loux, Taylor Vedova, Shane Vedova, Colton Vedova, Ryan Bantle, and Sara Bantle; Great-Grandchildren: Mia Brown, Taytum Stanley, and Mason Stanley; Mother: Evelyn Macklin, Sisters: Joan Sewell and Sandy Jimenez.
Nana was a creative person who loved the adventure and passion of life itself. Interacting with people, seeing new places, and being in her doll studio characterized who she was, but the real “loves” of her life were her children, grandchildren, and most recently great-grandchildren. She always encouraged them to live life to its fullest with great courage and independence.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 am on March 26, 2011 at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian, CA.
