Shirley Rogers Wright

Shirley Rogers Wright, of Ramona, born in Chicago, IL passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Poway. Shirley was born July 6, 1924 to Roland and Hattie Rogers. Shirley was the leader of an all girl band and performed overseas and domestically for the USO. During a flight across the sea of Japan bad weather forced their plane to make an emergency landing in the water. Fortunately they were rescued and no none perished. Shirley was also an entrepreneur who owned and operated a store, restaurant and several real estate properties.

Shirley is survived by her brother Ken Rogers of Bellville, IL, son Roger (Teresa) Wright, daughters Linda (Scott) Farrier and Barbara Belasco both of Ramona and grandchildren Giovanna, Steven, Bradley and Emily.
