Angus G. Tobiason “AG” passed away peacefully at his home in Ramona on Saturday, May 2, 2015.  He was surrounded by his family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Angus Gordon Tobiason was born August 17, 1930 in Chula Vista, California to Sadie and Arthur Tobiason. In 1939 the family moved to Ramona, CA and founded a new family homestead. Angus graduated from Ramona High School in 1949. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Oriskany during the Korean war before returning home to start Tobiason Brothers Excavating; an earth moving and contracting business; with his brother, Art. In 1956 he married his wife of 58 years Sally Ann (Chilson) Tobiason and his Family began.

Angus leaves a lasting legacy in his tireless volunteer work and implementation of a vision for Ramona. Angus served for 25 years on the Ramona Community Planning Group as well as the Ramona Jr Fair, an organization he played a central role in founding.  In 1996 Angus was recognized by the Ramona Chamber of Commerce for his many years of dedication and support to the community of Ramona by being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2008 he was awarded Friend of the Fair by the Ramona Jr. Fair, Inc.

Angus's most enduring legacy is, however, in the large family he worked so hard to provide for, teach, and inspire: his wife Sally, children Cheryl Brean, Mike Tobiason, Cathy Varela, Debbie Hankins, Crissy Tobiason, and Robert Tobiason; seven grandchildren – Torry Brean, Kristen Blackburn, Ashley Brean, Andrew Hankins, Anaya Tobiason, Michael Tobiason & Brandon Hankins; Three great-grandchildren – Shaye, Makenna & Kendall Blackburn; and numerous honorary grandchildren, in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who all knew his love and generous spirit.
